FACULTIES AND INSTITUTES

Note
The sources describe six faculties; the Teaching and Learning Institute and the African Indigenous Vegetables Institute are listed separately, and the bridging programme is not tied to a faculty. The sources do not say which campus teaches which programme, so campus is shown as not stated.
Sources and notes on this information

Source: the faculty-by-faculty entry-requirements text you pasted, followed by a short campus, faculty and intake summary. No PDF was attached. The catalogue has 45 rows: 5 diplomas, 19 honours bachelor's degrees, 9 taught master's, 5 MPhil, 5 PhD, 1 postgraduate diploma and 1 bridging programme.

Source quality: the faculty entries (titles, durations, entry requirements, contacts) read like the university's own programme pages. The closing campus, faculty and intake summary reads like an assistant's summary (it uses emojis and ends by offering fee breakdowns), so campuses and intakes are treated as secondary. It also gives no application dates, fees, or programme-to-campus detail.

MPhil and PhD: the pasted text lists 'Master of Philosophy Degree Programmes (2 years)' and 'Doctor of Philosophy Degree Programmes (full-time 3 years / part-time 4 years)' under five faculties (Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship, Applied Sciences and Technology, Development and Behavioural Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Plant and Animal Sciences and Technology). No fields are named, so there is one MPhil row and one PhD row per faculty (10 rows). BioSystems Engineering and Technology lists none.

Entry requirements are in short columns: 'O' Level, minimum grade, 'A' Level, route (diploma or national certificate), minimum class, work experience, mature entry and other conditions. The general degree rule (5 'O' Levels including English and Maths) is applied to every degree row. Irrigation Engineering (degree and diploma) also states a C-or-better grade, and the BSc Irrigation Engineering asks for any Science subject; the BSc Food Systems and Nutrition asks for a Science subject. Grey italics mean not stated or not applicable.

Diploma route for degrees: the general rule needs Merit or better and 5 years' post-qualification experience, but the faculty pages list accepted diplomas without repeating this. Both are shown (route and experience columns). BioSystems Engineering degrees, and the Applied GIS, Food Processing, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Natural Resources and Wildlife degrees, list an 'A' Level route only. Food Systems and Nutrition says diploma or certificate holders 'may be considered' with no grade or experience stated.

Questionable entry: the BSc (Hons) Animal Science and Health (under the Department of Animal Production Sciences) has no duration, and its entry text is word-for-word the same as Agricultural Extension and Technology. It may be a copy error in the source; confirm before use. Duration is shown as not stated.

Mature entry applies to the undergraduate degrees only (men 25+, women 23+, with the 5 'O' Levels and relevant work experience). It is not stated for diplomas or postgraduate programmes.

Attachment: the general rule says diploma applicants may be exempted from a 1-year attachment, which implies the 4 to 5 year degrees include one. The degree rows say so; the sources give no detail on the attachment.

Dates, fees and modes: no application dates, application fee, tuition fees or start dates are given, so those cells say not stated (the application fee is a blue input on the Admissions sheet). The intakes are February and August 2027 as supplied. Study mode (conventional or block/weekend) and campus are not stated per programme.

Contacts: faculty emails are as pasted. The Earth and Environmental Sciences address is fees@muast.ac.zw, which looks like a fees-office address rather than a faculty one; confirm it.

Descriptions, study areas, pathways and careers are written from each programme's title and the typical scope of such programmes. They are indicative, not MUAST's official syllabus text. Regulated fields (engineering, health administration, veterinary practice) need registration or further training.

Fees, intakes, requirements and contact details change; confirm with MUAST before applying or paying.

Taken from the institution's published material (file MUAST_Programme_Catalogue.xlsx) and added on 31 October 2026. Dates and fees change, so confirm with the institution before you apply.
