About this programme

Diploma: a sub-degree qualification that builds applied knowledge and can lead to a degree. Prepares social workers to support individuals, families and communities facing hardship, abuse or social problems.

What you will study

Social work theory and ethics, human behaviour, casework, group work and community work, child and family welfare, social policy and supervised field placements. Registration with the relevant council applies.

Further study and pathways

Progress to a bachelor's degree in the field (exemptions may apply: the handbook normally limits them to first-year courses and at most half the courses), or start work.
