Entry requirements

This is a degree. It is entered after A-Level, so O-Level results alone are not enough.

As the institution publishes it

Good 'O' Level passes (Grade B or better) in Mathematics and Science AND at least 2 'A' Level passes in Mathematics or Economics/Business Studies and one subject from Accounts, Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Physics and Agriculture/Crop Science/Animal Science; OR a Diploma in Agriculture from a recognised agricultural college.

Pathfinder cannot check this against your results automatically, so read it carefully or ask the admissions office.

About this programme

Brings economic thinking to farms, land, water, forests and wildlife. You learn how farmers make production and investment decisions, how prices and policies shape agriculture, and how to put a value on natural resources so that they can be used sustainably. Quantitative work (statistics, econometrics, cost-benefit analysis) is a core strength, making graduates useful in policy units, banks and research bodies as well as on farms.

What you will study

Microeconomics and macroeconomics; farm management and production economics; natural-resource and environmental economics; agricultural policy and trade; econometrics and statistics; project appraisal.

Further study and pathways

MSc or PhD in agricultural or resource economics; policy and research careers at ministries, think tanks, banks and international organisations.
