About this programme

Practical, studio-based training for people who want to tell stories on screen and on air. You learn the full production pipeline, from developing ideas and writing scripts to directing, shooting, recording sound, editing and distributing content, alongside the history and criticism of film, radio and television. Suits creative, collaborative people who are comfortable working on real productions. Best for those who like hands-on, team-based creative work and are happy to build a showreel of finished productions. Learning is project-driven, with studio and equipment time, and the programme feeds Zimbabwe's broadcast, advertising and fast-growing digital video sectors.

Scriptwriting; film and TV direction; cinematography and lighting; sound and radio production; editing and post-production; production management; media history, ethics and law; portfolio project.

Further study and pathways
