About the role
Position Summary: Fabricates high quality assistive devices under the direction of prosthetist/orthotists and physiotherapists that improve the mobility of children with disability and enable their full participation in society.
Essential Duties:
- Fabricates and assembles prosthetic and orthotic devices according to prosthetist/orthotist instructions
- Prepares and fills prosthetic/orthotic casts aligned according to prosthetist/orthotist instructions
- Prepares additional prosthetic/orthotic components including sewing leather straps, bending and attaching metal uprights and joints
- Documents the components and techniques used in the fabrication of a device
